Community Groups

Whether you are new to SFC or have worshipped with us for years,

we’re glad you want to learn more about our Community Groups!

What Are Community Groups?

Community Groups are small groups who gather regularly and live out the Gospel together in grace. We do this by studying the Bible, caring for one another, praying for each other, and serving El Paso in Jesus’ name.

Why Be Involved in a Community Group?

Community Groups are integral to our life together at SFC because we know from Scripture that followers of Jesus are a family. We need one another, and we were created for community as brothers and sisters. A Community Group is one of the key ways we grow as disciples of Jesus. A Community Group is where a congregation becomes my congregation, a place of belonging where we are known and where we can us our gifts and talents along side others.

What Happens in a Community Group?

A lot! Community Groups are where our life in Christ is celebrated together. We laugh and talk about all kinds of things. We share life,  encourage one another, and bear each other's burdens. We dig into Scripture with a desire to see God’s Word change us to be more like Jesus as we respond in obedience. We pray for one another, trusting God’s power to work in us and our circumstances. We demonstrate the love of Jesus to each other in tangible ways – meals, visits, rides, phone calls, childcare, cards, and more. And, we serve El Paso and the world, becoming God’s hands and feet where we can.

How Do I Join a Community Group?

Our Community Groups come in all shapes and sizes with people from different walks of life and at various life stages. They meet around the city on different days of the week. Our groups love having new folks join them, and there are new groups starting regularly.
